Intuition

Intuition is that experience in which all of a sudden you just "know" something is about to happen, and to your surprise, that feeling is then manifested into reality...

When you feel strongly about something without a logical basis to it, that's also called intuition. It comes in three impressions: Precognition or "having a vision", "knowing" and "seeing through listening".

Precognition is when you "see" beyond what is capable with your physical eyes. This is when you know what is happening somewhere because you get a glimpse of it.

Knowing is basically what we refer to as "hunch" or "gut feeling." This is the time when you are overwhelmed with a feeling you can't explain. Your only explanation is that "I just know."

Seeing, is the ability sense the truth about something through listening. To "hear" between the lines and "see" the truth. It could be the result of a conversation or even when a certain sound, whatever it is - a car horn or a bird's song - brings an intense feeling.

I believe everyone posseses intuition.

We are hard-wired for it because it is a part of our DNA. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive...(I'm a Scorpio!) I must agree that my own sense of things to come does at times seem to border on E.S.P. But it has also caused me problems! Along with being the best tool at my disposal to let me "see" how things are probably going to turn out. The challenge with this ability is it can make you a bit cynnical.

After all, you can virtually see and know the purpose and outcome of many things which appear in your life. It puts you directly in the pilot's seat regarding the decisions you make. So when a situation you decided to involve yourself with goes wrong, you may have already had a twinge of doubt early-on...and you may have blown it off as just fear, uncertainty or doubt.

When the situation does go bad you shake your head with the realization "I knew this was going to happen"!

Trusting your yourself requires some trial and error...

You have to be able to discern what is truly intuitive versus what may be an emotional predeliction to think or feel a certain way. For example, when does "what you want" override a true "inner hunch"?

This is why hunches don't always pan out the way we hope they will. I think the reason is our lack of discernment...Again when "what you want" overrides and takes over, it may leave little room for anything that causes doubt.

Have you ever fallen in love with the wrong person? Or made a business deal with the wrong person? After the fireworks were over did you sense you kind of knew it wasn't going to work out? That was your intuition! Why shoud you develop it? Why not let your current emotional and psychological state of mind stay as it is? The reason may surpirse you:

Learning how to trust yourself makes you more sensitive to the people and situations around you...Because of this it actually improves your ability to accurately communicate with people!

There's another important benefit to trusting your inner voice:

It can keep you out of trouble and help you to better protect the ones you love!

Enabling your intuitive power also makes you far more creative. Releasing more creative juices for any means of expression. Lastly, intuition is a profound source of healing energy!

So what are some methods for increasing and developing your inner voice?

I recently received permission to reprint the following seven steps. I think you'll find them very interesting and I assure you they will indeed stimulate this innate power within you.

1. Hypnosis.

Oh yes, get yourself hypnotized. Hypnosis is not limited to watching a pendulum move back and forth. Perform self-hypnosis or you can avail of hypnotic programs that can strengthen your intuition.

2. Meditation

Meditating means finding peace in yourself. If your mind and heart are cluttered with too many baggage and hurt, you wouldn't be able to quiet down that part of you that could eventually initiate intuition. There are so many ways to meditate: take a yoga class, or just simply practice some breathing that could bring you straight to Zen.

3. Think positive!

A worry-free, fear-free state could do so much to improve your intuitive ability. By staying positive, you attract good energy that would be able to easily recognize imminent feelings and events.

4. Just let go

What does this mean? If you are on the brink of making a huge decision, let go of all the inhibitions and head to a quiet place where you could find out where the letting go has brought you. Sometimes you just have to listen to the voice within you, and that voice wouldn't come out unless you let go.

5. Never expect an immediate result

After letting go of the inhibitions and all those things that stop you from thinking and feeling clearly, never expect for an answer right away. Never expect that the "hunch" would fall on your lap immediately. Give it a little time then you'd just get surprised that -- wham! -- now you have your answer.

6. Believe in your first impressions

When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.

7. Stay happy!

See? All you need to be intuitive is to stay happy!

Happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. In tapping into your intuition, your motivation must be happiness and contentment. Given that premise, intuition will fall to you easily. Trusting your inner voice is helpful, because sometimes it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by gut feeling alone. Decisions are easier done if armed by this gift. Develop intuition now and over time your will reap benefits you have never imagined.
